This museum presents more than 200 archaeological pieces representative of the first peoples that inhabited this part of the continent, belonging not only to the Valdivia culture but also to the Chorrera, Machalilla, Guangala and Manteño-Huancavilca cultures. --Visit the Amantes de Sumpa museum in Santa Elena. The site museum is named after the burial of two skeletons that are found embraced and that are part of the cemetery of the inhabitants of the Las Vegas Culture, catalogued as one of the oldest in the American continent, around 6,000 BC. --Sanctuary of Blanca Estrella Del Mar in Olon has a design in the shape of a sailing boat with a deck and prow, where the image of the Virgin Mary is found inside a shell on a carved wooden altar. Visitors can make tagua handicrafts or weave toquilla straw. Dos Mangas also has an interpretation center where native guides lead tourists along an ecological trail.
