Description
Ecuador is famous for its outdoor markets, abundant with produce, animals, textiles, and crafts. They fill your eyes with color and your nose with exotic aromas, and are always crazy fun and leave you discovering tons of things you never knew existed.
Depending on which day you’re going, we will select one of the two hardest-to-reach and least-touristed but HUGE outdoor markets that tour guides never tell you about, both on the outskirts of Quito. There we will set you loose to go wild through the byzantine aisles and stalls of locally grown fruit and vegetables, mommas cooking stews, shamans selling herbs, farmers selling live chickens, even locals selling housewares and tools can’t miss getting in on the action!
Bring a pocket full of dollar bills or coins, as most things sell for no more than $5 USD and sometimes a vendor will shoo you away if they have to make change!
Come have tons of fun!
Your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Quito at 10 a.m. and take you to market, and return you to your hotel by 1:30 p.m.

Forget the restaurants! Hop in the car and let us take you to where Ecuadorians go to get the most authentic food for cheap — on the street…and only on certain corners of certain streets!
We’ll wind you through town on an afternoon of hitting the sweetest spots in town where either on streets or in parks, vendors are serving the best cevichochos, fritadas, bebidas curativas, tostado, canelazo, jugos and batidos, empanadas de viento, corviche, higos con queso, pailas and salcedos, and so, so much more we can’t even keep up!
We do not promise you’ll encounter everything on the list above, because the vendors and menus change daily, but that’s the whole fun, food on the street is always reinventing itself.
The driver will pick you up from your hotel at 2 p.m., so be hungry! Brings lots of small bills and coins, because vendors don’t always have change. We’ll return you to your hotel no later than 6:30 p.m.

You give us a list of 7 Ecuadorian foods or dishes that have grabbed your imagination and you want to acquire or sample them, and we will set out a plan and a map to the very best places to introduce you to them, a match made in heaven.
5 days advance notice is required to reserve. Some items may only be seasonal, so we will let you revise your list as we research leading up to your trip. Food finds will be within the city limits.
Depending on the items on your list, the driver will pick you up from your hotel at a time that is optimal for getting all your items. It may be as early as 6 a.m., or as late as 2 p.m., so be flexible. The total adventure will last 5 hours.
