Description
This natural reserve covers two areas: Caseta and Cerro Chato. Caseta is the entrance, and during the rainy season, tortoises get together in a small pond just 1km away from the entrance. If you plan to go to Cerro Chato, plan to spend 3 to 3.5 hours to complete the hike.
Your driver is not an official tour guide and may speak only Spanish. A guide is not required to visit.
The road to the reserve is one of the best places to watch land birds. Tree and ground finches, warbling birds, and cattle egrets inhabit the area and occasionally Pachays have been seen.
Service starts from Puerto Ayora and can pick up from your hotel.
Things to keep in mind:
- Meals and gratuities are not included.
